Daara Patel was felicitated for his contribution to combating Covid-19 on November 10, 2020 with 100 other awardees by Social Talks, a nongovernmental organization. Secretary general of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA), Patel stated in an email to Parsiana that his efforts included coordination with the central and state governments to enable the Association’s members to increase their manufacturing capacity; general support to the pharmaceutical industry; coordination of delivery of free medication to the Bombay police, among other tasks. "Social Talks has joined IDMA as an associate member and is associated with IDMA in its activities and initiatives,” he noted.
