After completing 50 years with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO), music director Zubin Mehta performed his final concert with the Orchestra on July 13 at the Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv. "An enormous crowd of young and old rose almost simultaneously as the now frail but still charismatic maestro took the stage, opening with the Orchestra’s moving rendition of Israel’s national anthem Hatikvah,” it was reported in The Times of Israel of July 15.
