Banoo Lashkari (pictured) passed away in the early hours of August 5, 2020, a day few Bombayites are likely to forget as there was unprecedented rain causing irreparable damage. One of the prime casualties was Doongerwadi, which necessitated Banoo’s funeral being postponed by a day. Her exit was in sharp contrast to the quiet life she led.
