"Winding down”
I wonder how Aflatoon, Alamai and Letap have reacted to Parsiana’s impending closure. By now, by virtue of their long association with Parsiana they must think that they are betrothed and beholden to the community’s beloved magazine... till death do them apart, or whatever! Closure of Parsiana? Never thought about it, at least in their lifetime (see "Winding down,” Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, July 21-August 6, 2025)? What’s that?
We should approach the union, they said together, and rally our loyal subscribers and launch signature campaigns from the wider community. Maybe, just maybe, even get the courts perhaps, to obtain an injunction, preventing the shutting down of the beloved institution the columnists have nurtured with so much passion for over six decades. The only difficulty is that the first hearing might be scheduled in early November and Parsiana’s last issue will be in October.
All Parsiana subscribers are now pinning their hopes on Alamai, Aflatoon and Letap to keep Parsiana going beyond October. KAYOMARZ PATEL

I am very sad to learn that our favorite magazine, the pride and joy of all Zoroastrians here and abroad, is going to close down. Dr FIROZE D. MIRZA
Though I am a non Parsi I too will miss Parsiana, post October 2025. The outstanding and frank Editorial Viewpoint, Readers’ Forum, Events and Personalities and Zoroastrians Abroad columns, carrying news and views of Zoroastrians in India and abroad will be missing.
VIPUL SHAH
Parsiana, gentle steward of stories told/ Twice each month you graced our doors/ Ink and image weaving bonds,/ A tapestry for Zoroastrians, near and far.
For six bright decades, your pages fluttered/ Echoes of laughter, debate, remembrance/ Under the editor’s steady hand,/ Ably handled by his team,/ Kindred souls who stitched each line/ With care, conviction, and a lover’s pride.
You were the glue in our scattered mosaic,/ The lantern in uncertain times/ Announcing, explaining and connecting/ Hearts across continents and years.
Now the presses slow, the editorial lamps/ Dim with the passage of time,/ Aging hands unable to pass/ The torch; no one waiting in the wings.
There is sorrow in silence,/ Yet gratitude in memory:/ For the voices you uplifted, the unity you nurtured,/ The history you gathered, the changes you inspired.
Dear Parsiana, you carried our stories/ With dignity, humor and truth,/ Binding the past to the present/ The pulse of a people,/ The testament of a faith.
Though your pages rest and your voices pause,/ You will echo in our gatherings,/ In minds shaped by your wisdom,/ In every moment when kin remembers kin.
May your legacy linger/ As a lesson, a comfort, a call/ For the next generation to find courage/ To pick up the pen/ And write us together once more.
You will be missed/ But never forgotten./ Parsiana, the heart of a community,/ It’s soul for six decades. Dr PERVEZ BAMJI
