Bombay: The Telling Figures for 2021

The number of Parsi marriages in Bombay almost doubled from 42 in 2020 to 83 in 2021. Interfaith marriages increased from 43 in 2020 to 71 in 2021. Thus interfaith marriages, numbering 71 of the total 153, constituted 46% in 2021. In the preceding year, interfaith marriages had risen to 51% because the pandemic and leap year superstition seemed to have substantially dampened marriage fervor among Parsis.
