In the item "Nariman felicitated” (Events and Personalities, Parsiana, March 7-20, 2020), Dastur Khurshed Dastoor is quoted as having stated that Justice Rohinton Nariman was the first Zoroastrian priest to occupy a bench of the Supreme Court. This is incorrect.
Justice Dinshah Pirosha Madon (pictured) was the first Zoroastrian priest to have been elevated to the Supreme Court where he was a judge from March 15, 1983 till his retirement on April 6, 1986. Incidentally, he was also the first Zoroastrian judge of the Supreme Court of India.
