Elections in Borivli

Elections for the Borivli and Suburban Zoroastrian Association (BASZA) 2025-2028 committee held at its annual general meeting (AGM) on June 25, 2025 saw the re-election of most office bearers. The newly elected team includes Minoo Khan as president, Jimmy Adajania as vice-president, Khurshed Pastakia as secretary, Perviz Khan as treasurer. With Yazdi Motiwala and Keki Panday having stepped down for health reasons, the committee includes Minoo Kotwal, Banoo Mehta, Keshmira Adajania and Veera Pastakia, mentions an email received from Khurshed Pastakia.

The secretary highlighted that four successful community events were held during the year — Dae mah jashan, Parsi New Year and Khordad Sal celebrations, a New Year get-together in January, and Jamshedi Navroz — each followed by rounds of housie and a hearty dinner. Attendance averaged around 40 members, an encouraging sign given the elderly profile of the membership, mentions the email. An appeal was made for donations to support both BASZA’s activities and the Parsi Infirmary at Navsari.
The annual Dae mah jashan preceded the AGM, at the Rustomjee International School, Dahisar (West), kind courtesy of Boman Irani of the Rustomjee Group. The well-attended jashan was performed by local priests to invoke blessings for the community. Members then partook of the traditional chasni and enjoyed moments of fellowship before the formal meeting commenced.
The meeting concluded with a community dinner.
